Piano Events: Solo, Duet, Duo, Trio, Quartet, Concerto, Accompanying, Hymn Playing, One Hand for Special Musicians.
Festival Goals: To promote music study; to stimulate interest in American and world music literature; to encourage a high standard of musical achievement; to provide an opportunity for Junior (under age 19) and Adult members to perform and receive evaluation in a noncompetitive setting.
Features of Festival: A student’s Class (level) is determined by ability rather than age, school grade, or length of study. Each student gains individual merit for his/her own accomplishments. Rules and repertoire requirements are published in the Junior Festivals Bulletin (new one this year!). Teachers also receive Junior Keynotes, a quarterly publication.
Awards: Participation Certificate; National Certificate for “Superior” rating; Pin for three or more consecutive “Superiors”; Up to 4 “Gold Cups” for points which accumulate from year to year.
Teacher Membership Dues: Make dues payable to LFMC/Lake Charles District
Deadline: October 20, 2023
Amount: $50.00 includes teacher, first 10 students, and Junior Keynotes.
